Story behind the canvas
After the attacks on 9-11 I designed this Patriotic Hex for the protection of the US. I based it on the symbolism of the Pennsylvania Dutch use of hexes for protection. This one features 2 stars, the red, white and blue one in the foreground and a silver one behind it.
The symbolisms and meanings are as follow:
Star – good luck
Circle – eternity or infinity
Red- is associated with our will to survive. It is energizing and motivates us to take action. It signifies a pioneering spirit and leadership qualities, promoting ambition and determination. It is the embodiment of the American Spirit.
White - is color at its most complete and pure, the color of perfection. The color meaning of white is purity, innocence, wholeness and completion.
Blue – is the color of trust, honesty and loyalty. It is sincere, reserved and quiet.
Silver - is related to the moon and the ebb and flow of the tides - it is fluid, emotional, sensitive and mysterious. It is soothing, calming and purifying.
The combination of these elements is intended to protect our great nation and preserve all we hold dear for future generations.
